The Houses of Parliament are advertising for baristas and look at how much they're paying!

The Houses of Parliament are currently advertising for four baristas to serve coffee to MPs and the lucky recruits will earn more than a soldier risking their lives in Afghanistan.

The baristas will be on a salary of £20,173, making a soldier’s wage of £17,500 look like a bit of an insult. And that’s without factoring in the benefits the baristas will get of reduced gym membership fees, an interest free season ticket loan and a child care voucher scheme.

Have a look at our handy infographic to see how other jobs measure up to what these baristas will be earning. We've compared this promised salary to a police officer, a soldier, a chef and a trainee journalist.
