Great news! We’ve teamed up with the Tech Partnership, a network of employers who are working to create skills for the UK’s digital economy. Their ambition is to create enough skills for a million people to have tech jobs by 2025. Now, we’re working together to get you guys clued up on the benefits of digital apprenticeships and the huge range of digital careers you could have if you chose to do an apprenticeship.

If you’re thinking about doing an apprenticeship, chances are this will be your first “real” job. Cue nightmares and hours spent worrying about having no idea what you’re doing, panic-reading a load of tech blogs and praying none of the scary senior people will ask you any questions. Don’t panic!

Apprenticeships were created as a way to learn on the job, so you definitely won’t be expected to be an expert on your first day. In fact, while tech apprentices learn loads of techie skills like coding and the ins and outs of different software, they often learn even more about themselves.

We asked apprentices Shajida, Dominic, Jake and Fiona and ex-apprentice Jack to take a self-indulgent stroll down memory lane and tell us about some of the biggest things they’ve learned during their apprenticeships. Take a look…
